Inaugural Post!

Welcome to The Wayward Turnip. I'm a environmental studies student (soon to be graduate) obsessed with making things. Over the last few years I've spent increasingly large amounts of my free time making stuff out of rescued materials. I have long been passionate about the art of conservation-- reusing, remaking, and reinventing materials. This approach is gaining popularity with the rise of the DIY ethic and the culture of self-reliance. It is my pupose here to share some of what I've made, how I made it and the resources I used. I hope it will inspire you to try making things and reusing the abundance (or waste, depending on your perspective) around you!
